China

Stretching over 50 degrees of latitude and covering 9.6 million sq km of land, the People's Republic of China is one of the largest countries in the world with over 20 per cent of the planet's population. China is a vast part of the Asian continent with extremes of landscape. Landscapes are startlingly varied and incorporate tropical rainforest, glaciers, fairytale limestone karst towers, loess plateaus, huge river valleys, and gorges along with the world's second biggest desert and its highest mountains. China's vast history, ethnic and cultural diversity, along with the sheer enormity of its territory, presents so many travel possibilities that you could spend your whole life here and still not have seen everything. The country remains largely as mysterious and undiscovered as it was in the 19th century. China has come a long, long way in a short span of time...
